Land Development
Ekipe Haiti owns five acres of property half way between downtown Cap Haitien and the village of Cadouche. The five acres have been secured by a 10 foot wall with a gated entrance and, in partnership with another organization, a fresh-water well has been installed.
We are now raising the necessary funds to begin our second phase of development, which will include a multi-purpose facility, a storage depot and living quarters for the groundskeeper. Also included in this phase will be the planting of fruit-bearing trees on the property and raised garden beds, which will allow us to teach agriculture methods to local Haitians. Other plans for the multi-purpose facility include teacher training programs, mentoring classes and space to house visiting work-teams.
Future phases of land development include bunk houses for larger teams and summer camps for the children living in the area.
